26 new Maryland Malibu Media lawsuits bring in the New Year (November 2015 to January 2016)

Malibu Media, LLC, owner of the X-Art.com adult website, continues to file a record-setting number of lawsuits around the United States, taking advantage of copyright laws which currently favor plaintiffs. In the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, 26 new lawsuits were filed between November of 2015 and January of 2016.

Defendants in the newest of these Malibu Media lawsuits can expect to begin receiving notices of the subpoenas from their service providers in the middle of January, if they haven’t already. These subpoenas seek the subscribers’ names and addresses. Plaintiffs typically use the identities to pursue settlements or further litigation.

30 new Malibu Media lawsuits hit Maryland in March

Reddit user /u/beardfearer may fear beards, but not copyright noticesSpring is here and so is Malibu Media, as usual, with 30 new lawsuits filed in the District of Maryland. The infamous copyright Plaintiff has not backed off of the merry land, with the cases representing almost 15% of Malibu’s approximately 207 March cases.

Defendants can expect to receive notices of subpoenas to their ISPs within the next few weeks, depending on the judge handling each case.

Maryland sees 28 new Malibu Media lawsuits in February

The state of “Manly deeds, Womanly words” has become a hotbed for bittorrent litigation with Malibu filing a total of 380 lawsuits in the last two years.

The latest round sees 28 new cases filed in February. The matters are currently winding their way through the approvals process.
